Mini-RACR used by the Major Crimes Division įor Major Crimes, Season 5, the Major Crimes Division gained access to RACR and its systems through a specialized room which was built adjacent their squad room. A similar system was also used by the Assistant Chief of Operations in the same episode. RACR was first introduced and briefly mentioned in “ Two Options” when the Major Crimes Division borrowed some equipment from the Special Operations Bureau, including a link to RACR's Incident Reports. In the Major Crimes Universe, it is indicated that RACR is under the supervision of the Assistant to the Director, Office of Operations.
In the real LAPD, the RACR Division was consolidated into the Communications Division of the Office of Support Services in 2018 as the Department Operations Center. RACR is housed in the Los Angeles Emergency Operations Center, which also houses the city’s Emergency Management Department, and the LAPD’s COMPSTAT Division.
RACR was also designed as the Department Command Post and it is used to manage the city during major occurrences, whether they be natural or man-made. It also tracks the state of the City of Los Angeles, including tracking all uniformed resources, the state of radio calls, and other indicators to constantly monitor the state of the City of Los Angeles.
